Twelve women in the VI community preserve the "Art of Batik" through a program provided by the Cooperative Extension Service, University of the Virgin Islands and supported by the VI Lottery.
Julius Jackson is a professional boxer from the Virgin Islands who qualified for the 2008 Olympics at light-heavyweight. He speaks with the students from VI public and private schools one-on-one about education, life, and preparing for success.
The VI Lottery believes "youth educators and community stakeholders should be exposed to the concepts of food policy, food aggregation and solutions to getting local food on Virgin Islanders' plates" as stated by Sommer Sibilly Brown, Program Manager.
VI Lottery is a proud sponsor of a documentary which celebrates VI history, culture, art forms, and politics as a lead-in to the Centennial Commemoration. The documentary creates an awareness of the contributions of Virgin Islanders. In this documentary, Ms. Betina LaRocque interviews Kevre Hendricks, Manager of Fusion Band. The series is produced by Abdul Ali.
The 22nd Annual Finest Pan Fest was held in December 2016. The presentation highlighted musical talents of students from all St. Croix schools, church and community after school programs.
