VI Lottery is a proud sponsor of our athletes and their outstanding performances. On May 28th, and 29th, 2016 the St. Croix Track Club (STXTC) attended the 25th Bay Area Youth Track & Field (BayTaf) Classic in Tampa, FL at the University of South Florida facility.
The event hosts over 1,500 athletes in three group categories. STXTC accumulated 253 points with 16 athletes to win Group 3 over Impact Athletes from Atlanta, Georgia with 150 points. There were three group categories. Group 1 were teams with over 39 athletes. Group 2 were teams with 21-39 athletes, and Group 3 were teams with 20 or less athletes. In addition, Malique Smith, who just completed his freshman year at University of Arkansas Pine Bluff, earned the Most Valuable Athlete award for placing 1st in the 800m and 400m in 1:54.78 and 49.03 respectively.
