The 5th Edition of the CARIFTA Chess Championship was held at the Divi Carina Bay Beach Resort over the Easter Weekend.
Teams from Aruba Bahamas, Barbados, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago and Suriname played alongside USVI children under 12, 16 and 20. Hazel Acosta, a local USVI Player, won 1st place in the Under 18 category. The tournament was a huge success for the island, the USVI Chess Federation and all the children involved.
